Happy New Year Goals

Happy New Year!  Today, July 1, marks the first day of the new Toastmasters year.  I have several "roles" in the year ahead, all of which I have some familiarity with, and all of which merit some goals.  Here are my current thoughts on my goals for my various roles:

Treasurer of Club 229:

  • Earn the "Early Bird" award both terms (at least 8 membership dues submitted 15 days prior to deadline)
  • Make good use of the discount coupon we received for membership growth - Don't let it expire without use!
VP PR of Rail Talkers
  • Get at least one article about the club posted on the internal website of the company (Union Pacific) that supports the club
  • Publish a newsletter summarizing club and member accomplishments at least once a quarter
  • Promote the winner of "Rail Talker of the Year" (and make sure "Rail Talker of the Year", our annual award that we did for several years and stopped doing in 2020, returns!)
President of Tech Talkers
  • Complete our Club Success Plan with input from all officers
  • Reference the Club Success Plan at officer meetings (held ~ every 2 months)
  • Achieve at least 50% of the goals we define on the Club Success Plan
Division D Director
  • Complete Division Success Plan with input from all Area Directors and assistants
  • Reference Division Success Plan throughout the year (use in meetings, reports, etc to stay on track)
  • 100% Area Director Report completion rate for both rounds of reports
  • Area Directors and assistants feel satisfaction with the job they did at the end of the year and are glad they took on the role
  • At least one assistant decides to be an Area Director in 2023-2024
Some of these goals may not make sense to someone not "versed" in Toastmasters (and perhaps even to some people who are "versed" in Toastmasters) so feel free to ask if you have any questions.
